Annual technical inspections

The registered motor vehicles and the trailers towed by them are subject to mandatory periodical inspection for testing their technical worthiness - which is known as "Annual technical inspection". The conditions and the order for performing the inspection of the vehicles are determined by the Ordinance N-32 of the Ministry of Transport, Information Technologies and Communications in coordination with the Minister of the Interior.

The road vehicles are subject to inspection of their technical worthiness as follows:

1. motor vehicles - at the third and fifth year of their initial registration as new ones, after which - annually;
2. buses and taxi vehicles - at every 6 months;
3. cargo vehicles, special vehicles, trailers and semitrailers with permissible maximum mass over 750 kg, which have been registered initially for less than 10 years - every year, after which - at every 6 months;
4. trailers with permissible maximum mass up to 750 kg - every second year.

During the periodical inspection of the road vehicle the following documents are to be submitted:

• Certificate of Title - parts I and II in original; a clear and legible copy of part I of the Certificate of Title could be presented;
• document for paid tax on the road vehicles, payable by the day of the performing the periodic inspection of the road vehicle in accordance with Art. 60, par. 6 from the Law on the Local Taxes and Fees, issued or verified by the corresponding municipality or document for tax exemption in accordance with Art. 58 from the Law on the Local Taxes and Fees;
• mandatory insurance "Civil liability";
• ID document of the person, submitting the road vehicle for inspection;
